ACCORDING TO THE PROTOCOL LES CHUTES (2007)
The dancers walk freely within a defined space. They stare at one another or at the visitors in a neutral fashion, without any intention. They do not talk, they sit or lie down on the ground without ceasing to search out someone's eyeline. The action is maintained for several hours. To contrast the practice from the representation, the time limit of each X-Event protocol is set up because of the context and by the energy potential of the dancers as physical workers.
From the March 23th 2014, the Yay Gallery is projecting several video recordings of the work by Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet shot during previous activations.
Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet (les gens d’Uterpan), in partnership with the CAC Bretigny, develop the construction and diffusion of several performances – The X-Event. The creations point out and question the frontiers between dance and plastic arts concerning the exhibition of living art.
Each X-Event form goes with sound from the Baryton’s voice of Victor Torres. The handling of these materials by Nicolas Martz defines a position and a functionality of sound including composition and time traces.
Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet are associated since 1994 under the generic title les gens d’Uterpan. Their creations focuse on experimentation.
Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet collaborate regularly to projects in different fields (theatre, cinema, advertising, fashion). They are also invited to reenact historic pieces.
