YAY Gallery present solo exhibition of the famous artist Museib Amirov’s solo exhibition `TWO STATES OF BEING`. Exhibition will held from February 28 till March 19 2014.
In the world almost always there are two alternating states of being – peace and commotion. Each day of our existence we find ourselves travelling a road that leads from the secure stability of the past into the uncertainty of the future and this motion is what we call life… It would seem that this exhibition by the artist Museib Amirov “Two States of Being” sprang to life somewhere at the crossroads of times, where the bustling, noisy present and the past steeped in misty romance intersect.
Museib Amirov is a collection of paradoxes. A dreamer, cherishing a touching faith in the idea of creating a gigantic iron bird that is capable of lifting dreamers like himself into the skies over Absheron. A workaholic who does not believe in the need for inspiration. A creative recluse, who by his own acknowledgment is capable of not leaving his workshop for months and a person with an amazing number of friends prepared to do anything for him. Is it not this clash of contradictions that has allowed him to unerringly convey the spirit of the times in which we live? These two worlds, two states of being, familiar to all become merged together. Museib succeeds in reconciling us with the need to live simultaneously in the past and the present, repenting and rejoicing, remembering and hoping.
Museib Amirov was born in 1963 in Baku to the family of the famous artist Arif Amirov. Graduated from Art College and the Azerbaijan State University of the Arts. Has exhibited in the USA, France, Germany, Lithuania and his works are held in many museums and private collections around the world.
